After more than two years of negotiations, Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) members at MSNBC have overwhelmingly ratified a strong first collective bargaining agreement. The MSNBC Union’s hard-fought path to union protections started in August 2021, with recent actions including more than 5,000 WGAE members and union allies sending letters to management demanding a contract.

In at least three instances in the past month, unionized employees at Condé Nast, who were exercising their federally-protected right to take collective action to demand answers about pending layoffs, were met with security guards.

In national voting completed this week, members of SAG-AFTRA ratified the 2023 TV/Theatrical Agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Members approved the new, multi-year contracts covering television, theatrical and streaming production by a vote of 78.33% to 21.67% with a turnout of 38.15%.

Transport Workers Union Local 100 is mourning the tragic death of Track Worker Hilarion Joseph, 57, who was working as a Flagger at 34th Street and Herald Square when he was struck by a D Train at approximately 12:13 AM on the morning of November 29th. Local 100 President Richard Davis expressed the Union’s condolences and deep sorrow at this line of duty death.
