Columbia Postdoctoral Workers (CPW-UAW) will go to the polls on Monday, August 7th, and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee (SPOC-UAW) will begin their vote on Thursday, August 10th. Last week, hundreds of Postdocs at both campuses attended a mass meeting to discuss their options.

Freelance workers in production departments for TV commercials across the United States are set to win voluntary recognition of their union after a neutral third party confirmed a majority of these workers signed cards indicating they wish to unionize with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE).

In a unanimous election victory on Wednesday, workers at Barboncino, a popular pizzeria in Crown Heights, became the first unionized pizzeria in New York City. After seeking voluntary recognition by management in November 2022, workers at the store filed for a union election with the National Labor Relations Board on May 22 of this year.

Workers at Grindr, the company behind the largest LGBTQIA+ dating app, have announced the formation of Grindr United-CWA after a supermajority of the eligible members signed union representation cards. Grinder United-CWA members work across various departments, including cloud engineering, customer experience, design, engineering, IT, marketing, privacy, product, and quality assurance.
