"Our teachers know what they need in order to do their jobs safely, and it's time for the City to start listening to what they're telling us and make sure that schools open only when they meet the critical health and safety standards outlined in this report," said New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO President Vincent Alvarez. "We've come a long way in New York City, but it's up to all of us to make sure that we continue moving forward by actually implementing — not just just talking about — the policies and procedures that will keep our students, teachers, and communities safe."
