Young Worker Labor History Tour!
Sat, Mar 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM
We live and work in one of the richest cities in the world for labor history. Strikes and disasters occurred here, legendary figures in history cut their teeth here, new holidays and movements were birthed here. Let us come together and learn some of the vibrant labor history of our city, in the hopes that we can continue to be inspired to create some of our own.
So let's come together for some history and some fun on Saturday March 28th, on the heels of the Next-Up Young Worker Summit and the annual remembrance of the Triangle Fire.
Meet up at 11am at the site of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. Walk around to 4 or 5 places of importance, talking about the history of what happened there.
End at a local bar or restaurant to continue the conversation over some drinks and foods.
We will be focusing on the Washington/Union/Cooper Square area.
