New School, Columbia Grad Student Workers Petition to Join UAW Local 2110

This week, the Student Employees at the New School (SENS) and the Graduate Workers of Columbia (GWC) delivered petitions for representation by United Auto Workers Local 2110 to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).  The two groups, representing over 3,000 Graduate School Student Workers, announced that a majority of research and teaching assistants had signed cards to join UAW and ask university leaders for a fair and expedient process for union recognition.
