#RetireNYC: Confronting New York City's Retirement Crisis
Are you aware that 41% of New Yorkers have no set retirement plan? This number increases to 57% and 59%, respectively for Blacks and Latinos, and it's even higher for low-wage workers, at 74%. Now is the time to address this important issue that affects all of us.
On Tuesday, June 17th the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, will partner with the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis to hold to host #RetireNYC: Confronting New York City's Retirement Crisis.
This event will include remarks from CLC President Vincent Alvarez, as well at City Comptroller Scott Stringer, and State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli.
The event will also feature a report on the status of the City's economy by Economist James Parrot, and panels moderated by Economist Teresa Ghilarducci, on the retirement crisis and possible solutions.
This is an issue of importance to ALL working people, whether they have a retirement plan or not, so please join us for this necessary and informative event.
