ON THE 46TH ANNIVERSARY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING’S ASSASSINATION, ELECTED, CLERGY AND COMMUNITY LEADERS WILL JOIN CONTRACTED AIRPORT PASSENGER SERVICE WORKERS ON A 10-MILE MARCH FROM KENNEDY TO LAGUARDIA AIRPORT IN MEMORY OF DR. KING.
On Jan. 20, 2014, MLK Day, nearly 1,000 people—airport workers, elected officials, clergy, 32BJ SEIU President Hector Figueroa, other 32BJ officials and members—protested on 94th Street Bridge, which leads into LaGuardia. In an act of civil disobedience, more than 30 people were arrested, including Rep. Charles Rangel, Figueroa, several City Council and state assembly members, workers and clergy members. On Friday, April 4, the marchers will march from Kennedy to LaGuardia, culminating their march on the bridge where protesters were arrested on Jan. 20. http://bit.ly/1rH15e3 #March4TheDream
