Join Transport Workers Local 100 to Stand Up for a Fair Contract!
As we approach the one year anniversary of Super Storm Sandy, New York City transit workers are rapidly and steadily “fixing and fortifying” New York’s Public Subway and Bus system. When Sandy hit transit, workers immediately began the arduous task of pumping out tunnels, repairing train signals, rebuilding railroad tracks, and getting buses back on the roads. Some service was up within hours; most within days. Transit Workers got New York moving: protecting our economy from the devastating effects of an extended loss of public transit.
Through two major hurricanes, crushing snowstorms, and blistering heat and blackouts, Transit Workers have dedicated themselves to keeping New York moving despite working without a contract. Now they are seeking a fair and reasonable contract that has wages which keep pace with the cost of living.
