The Bronx Defenders Union Collective Bargaining Committee (BxD CBC) and Bronx Defenders management reached a tentative agreement on Wednesday night, averting a planned strike scheduled for this coming Monday.
Among other provisions, the union secured 8-10% salary increases, a 2-year contract term with the right to strike for wages after 1 year in line with Association of Legal Aid Attorneys-UAW Local 2325 sectoral bargaining, a fair, flexible telecommuting policy, and a free speech provision.
"The BxD CBC would like to thank our union siblings for the trust they placed in us through this process, our amazing ALAA organizers, and the community whose support bolstered our resolve," the union said on social media. Follow the union here.
