Take Action: Tell Albany to Fix Tier 6!
Staffing shortages in the public sector are at crisis levels because of the recruitment and retention issues caused by Tier 6. It is critical that the State addresses this problem in the 2024-25 State Budget. Will you make a call to show your support for fixing Tier 6?
This is an urgent problem and we can’t afford to wait any longer for the State to take action. From public education to health care, and transportation to emergency services, employers at every level of government have sounded the alarm that they cannot recruit enough staff or encourage qualified individuals to stay in service. Unless we make these jobs more attractive, we will continue to struggle to recruit and retain workers in our communities, and vital public services will become less reliable.
With only a few days left until the State Budget deadline, it's critical that the Governor and legislature continue to hear that reforming Tier 6 is a priority for their constituents. Will you make a call to the Governor and your legislators to ask them to fix Tier 6 in this year's budget?
