UAW Postdocs at Sinai Win Tentative Agreement

After more than a year of bargaining followed by an energetic 12-day strike, Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee-UAW (SPOC-UAW) reached a Tentative Agreement this week with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on a strong first contract on Monday. This massive achievement would not have been possible without years of organizing by hundreds of postdocs.

The Tentative Agreement sets a new sectoral standard with the highest minimum salaries for postdocs in the country, plus annual increases. Other highlights include fully paid parental leave, three years of guaranteed subsidized housing, just cause protection from discipline and termination, and much more.
