It's National Apprenticeship Week!
Registered apprenticeships are good for employers and good for working people. Employers develop a highly skilled workforce, and working people get paid work experience, classroom learning and a pathway to success.
There are registered apprenticeships across industries like hospitality, the care economy, cybersecurity, construction and advanced manufacturing. The people working in these industries will literally build our future.
As the labor movement, we already know registered apprenticeships are valuable and a path to good union jobs. But more people need to know. In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, will you help spread the word about the value of America’s apprenticeships?
Please share these top three apprenticeship facts with someone who needs to know:
- $80,000—The average starting salary after completing a registered apprenticeship.
- 90%—The percentage of apprentices who stay on the job after completing their apprenticeship.
- $300,000—The lifetime earning advantage of an apprentice graduate compared to their peers who don’t complete an apprenticeship.
