Flight Attendants Rally for Strike Authorization Vote, with Entertainment Workers Showing Up in Support
On Wednesday, members of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) and supporters made it clear to American Airlines management that they are fired up, unified, and standing together for a contract with significant improvements to compensation, retirement, scheduling flexibility, and more.
An incredible 99.47% of Flight Attendants have authorized APFA to call a strike if and when necessary. This gives their Negotiating Committee needed momentum at the bargaining table. Mediated talks continue next week, and the union expects to see considerable movement on key issues.
Members of the union as well as union siblings from the airline industry and beyond joined APFA's picket lines Wednesday for a Strike Authorization Vote Rally at airports across the country, committing to walk with them until they receive an offer worthy of ratification. Here in NYC, members and supporters were joined at LaGuardia Airport by striking members of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA in an powerful show of solidarity.
