Rally to send the NY Times a message: Stop Union Busting!
Tue, Nov 16, 2021 at 12:00 PM
Tomorrow at noon, members of the Times Guild, Times Tech Guild, and Wirecutter Union are joining forces to call on The Times to respect their unions and stop union busting.
The Wirecutter Union just announced their willingness to strike over the Black Friday shopping week if they can’t reach a fair deal on wages.
The Times Tech Guild continues to fight union busting as they fight to form the largest union of tech workers in the country. Times management has held regular anti-union meetings, delayed their vote through legal challenges, and committed unfair labor practices to dissuade members from voting yes.
Times Guild members have fought to make their bargaining transparent and inclusive, and just won the right to have unlimited observers. But now they fight for fair wages, safety on the job, and more, with no responses from the company to the vast majority of their proposals.
Join members for a rally at noon on Tuesday protesting Times management's anti-union tactics and demanding the company respects their rights! New York Times Building, 242 West 41st Street. Wear red for solidarity!
Wirecutter Union Members are also asking that supporters do not shop through Wirecutter from Black Friday through Cyber Monday if an agreement cannot be reached by that time. Click here to learn more and sign up for updates from the union!
