In an overwhelming show of support for their new contract with the city, members of the United Federation of Teachers ratified their contract by a margin of more than 3-to-1.

Mrs. Green’s Natural Market recently signed a 20-year lease to move to a location on Hudson Street in Manhattan. Citing NLRB allegations of unlawful firing of employees, UFCW Local 1500 plans to picket the location. The first Manhattan location is due to open in June.

Yesterday, in an overwhelming show of approval for their new agreement, the rank-and-file members of TWU Local 100 have ratified their new contract. 82% of the Local 100 membership voted in favor of ratification, the largest "yes" vote for a contract in the history of TWU local 100.

In a major victory for employees at Verizon Wireless, 63 workers at six Verizon Wireless stores across Brooklyn voted to join CWA yesterday. These workers endured an aggressive anti-union campaign mounted by Verizon Wireless management in order to ensure a voice on the job.
