This week, members of IBEW Local 1212 reached an agreement with non-union company Team People to bargain over wages, working conditions, and terms of employment. Member of IBEW Local 1212 have covered the United Nations since 1945, but recently, the facility opted to sign a contract with Team People, prompting Local 1212 to file a complaint with the NLRB.

On Wednesday, graduate students at NYU voted overwhelmingly to approve representation of the UAW. This victory marked the culmination of an eight-year battle to regain recognition and collective bargaining power, after NYU refused to recognize the union in 2005.
The new bargaining unit will consist of nearly 1,250 teachers and graduate assistants throughout NYU and Polytechnic Institute.
