National Night Out Against Crime
National Night Out is a community-building event hosted annually on the first Tuesday of August in partnership with local police and first responders. This year’s events — there were over 70 in New York City alone — were two years in the making.
In the NYPD 107th Precinct in Queens, the Community Council coordinated with Local 3 IBEW and locally-owned small businesses to host the Electchester community’s National Night Out right across the street from the union hall. Affiliated clubs of Local 3 IBEW, such as the Motorcycle Club, Sportsmen’s Club, and Latimer Association, volunteered to set up and serve food and drinks to the large crowd of families, neighbors, union members, and first responders. Thank you to everyone who helped and came together for a fun summer night!
