Broadway is Back, Under New Safety Agreement
Actors’ Equity Association reached an agreement with the Broadway League on COVID safety protocols for the Production Contract— the contract on which Broadway actors and stage managers work. Key provisions of the agreement include improved HVAC standards, mandated vaccines for the workforce and weekly testing for employees.
“This is an important milestone on the path to getting all our members safely back to work,” said Mary McColl, executive director of Actors’ Equity Association. “We all feel this plan is robust, adaptable to changing conditions and in line with the science.”
This agreement has already taken effect, and Broadway has officially begun reopening: On Wednesday, August 4, Pass Over was the first Broadway play to begin performances. Read more here.
