Union L.E.A.D. Scholarship Opportunity

For the last 20 years, the New York State AFL-CIO has co-sponsored, with Cornell University, the Union Leadership Institute (ULI). Hundreds of prospective leaders from local unions throughout the state have gone through the program with many progressing to leadership positions within their unions.

As part of its commitment to fostering equity in our movement and ensuring our leadership reflects its membership, the New York State AFL-CIO Social Justice Task Force has proposed, and the Executive Council has approved, providing Union L.E.A.D. scholarships for prospective union leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Hundreds of prospective leaders from local unions throughout the state have gone through the program with many progressing to leadership positions within their unions. In order for New York to remain union strong, we need our next generation of leaders, diverse in background and experience, to step forward. Are you ready for the challenge?
