NYC Postdoc Power! Two UAW Postdoctoral Researcher Units to Begin Strike Authorization Votes Next Week

Columbia Postdoctoral Workers (CPW-UAW) will go to the polls on Monday, August 7th, and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee (SPOC-UAW) will begin their vote on Thursday, August 10th. Last week, hundreds of Postdocs at both campuses attended a mass meeting to discuss their options. Both units are part of a growing movement of academic workers across New York City who are coming together to demand their employers treat them fairly. Both units have been at the table for months as they push for livable wages and more equity at their respective institutions.
