Committee on Civil Service and Labor Holds Hearing on Supporting Unionization Drives

The New York City Council Committee on Civil Service and Labor on Thursday held a hearing on support for New York City worker unionization drives. A number of NYC CLC affiliates and allies testified, including representatives from Starbucks Workers United, CWA District 1, RWDSU, the NYC District Council of Carpenters, NYSNA, and Andre Soleyn, a member of Teamsters Local 553 (pictured far left) who has been on strike at United Metro Energy Corporation (UMEC) in Brooklyn for 600 days.
