The TWU Local 100 Executive Board, comprised of elected union officers from all divisions, yesterday voted 42-4 in favor of an agreement reached after months of negotiations with the MTA. The agreement includes among other provisions a 9.84% compounded wage increase and enhanced optical and dental benefits, and, importantly, holds the line on healthcare payroll deductions.

"We had a real fight on our hands but transit workers stood together and we were able to secure a fair contract," said Local 100 President Tony Utano. The American Arbitration Association will now conduct a ratification vote, with Local 100's roughly 37,000 members receiving ballots in the mail. Read more details about the proposed agreement here!
