On Saturday, 95,000 union members and their families representing 200 unions and constituency groups filled Fifth Avenue for the 2025 New York City Labor Day Parade & March, the nation’s oldest and largest celebration of working people. Following a rousing rendition of the National Anthem performed by 4-time Tony Award nominee and Actors' Equity member Judy Kuhn, Co-Grand Marshals Rich Maroko, President of the Hotel & Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO, and Terri Carmichael Jackson, Executive Director of the Women’s National Basketball Players Association, led a Parade that showcased the strength and diversity of New York City’s Labor Movement. They were joined by AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond, the leadership of the NYC Central Labor Council, and elected officials from across the City and State.

The Parade honored those who built New York and continue to keep it running every day, highlighting the solidarity and dignity that define our movement. For nearly five hours, tens of thousands of union members filled Midtown with sound and color before severe weather forced an early end. While not every union was able to complete the full route, all spent time together on their assembly blocks, demonstrating the spirit of “Power in Unity” that defined this year’s celebration. Thank you to everyone who joined us, in particular our volunteers who helped make sure that all of our participants were able to celebrate safely!
