WGA East Members at RadicalMedia Ratify First Union Contract

Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) members at RadicalMedia have ratified their first collective bargaining agreement by a nearly unanimous vote. The five-year contract covers approximately 50 workers, including Archival Producers, Story Producers, post-production workers, field workers, and others.
The agreement establishes new minimum pay rates with annual 2% increases, daily employer contributions to the Entertainment Industry Flex Plan health insurance program, paid holidays and bereavement leave, minimum rest periods, and compensatory days off for extra days worked. Workers will also receive payment when productions are shut down on short notice.
RadicalMedia is the production company behind popular nonfiction titles including This Is a Gardening Show with Zach Galifianakis, The West, Summer of Soul, Hollywood Black, Conversations with a Killer, Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music, and Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.
“We’re thrilled RadicalMedia workers secured their first union contract,” said Michael Rauch, WGAE Vice President of Film/TV/Streaming. “This agreement builds on protections nonfiction production workers have gone without for too long including rest periods, pay when production is paused on short notice, paid holidays and health care contributions. With RadicalMedia joining a growing list of organized nonfiction shops, the message to the industry is clear: union standards are becoming the norm.”
