In New York, clean energy is providing family-sustaining union careers for apprentices like Christopher Downes, member of Operating Engineers Local 30. Prior to joining the union, Chris says his career outlook was uncertain. Now, he’s training for a safe and stable career building New York’s clean energy future.

“Because I have a union job, I don’t have to worry about work environment and safety conditions. I’m able to go to work and feel good about the labor that I do, and have some pride in my work. I’m also able to not stress about my future and be able to live a comfortable life, and raise a family.”
