UFW and Supporters Rally in Brooklyn to Demand Release of Detained Worker Leaders

The United Farm Workers and supporters gathered on Monday to hold two rallies to demand the release of UFW worker leaders detained by ICE. In addition to a rally in Kent, NY, members and supporters gathered at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn.
The farm workers were on a work bus on their way to Lynne-Ette & Sons Inc in Kent on May 2nd. Workers on the bus told the union they didn’t see an arrest warrant from ICE; however a company representative let ICE on the bus anyway. The workers were then taken off the bus and into custody in unmarked vans. The UFW had been working to organize with the same workers who are being detained.
