Talk About Pain™ Live Panel Hosted by IBEW Local 3

In the Electric Industry Center Auditorium on October 14th, IBEW Local 3 hosted a panel with Talk About Pain™ Live, featuring former New York Giant and two-time Super Bowl champion Justin Tuck and Dr. Joseph Ravenell, MD, associate dean and professor at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Their open and frank discussion and Q&A covered such topics as acute or chronic pain, the stigma that may come with it, and inequities in healthcare, particularly in the experiences of Black people. Tuck and Dr. Ravenell both strongly suggested speaking candidly with a medical professional because those conversations are where treatment starts. The event was held in tandem with Local 3’s Lewis Howard Latimer Progressive Association with over 200 union members in attendance.
