Take Action: Tell Congress to Pass the Bipartisan Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act (MPTERA)
Film and TV Production has been moving overseas, and American workers are paying the price.
The bipartisan Motion Picture, Television, and Entertainment Revitalization Act would change all that, immediately leveling the playing field for American workers and making the U.S. more globally competitive for film and television production. This legislation would return middle-class film and television jobs from overseas, unleash a wave of economic activity in all 50 states, and protect a signature American industry.
This legislation has been endorsed by a broad, worker-led coalition that includes IATSE, International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), The Directors Guild of America, SAG-AFTRA, Writers Guild of America, Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA), American Federation of Musicians, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 40) and Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association– as well as the major motion picture studios, independent producers, film commissioners, vendors, and numerous other organizations encompassing the entirety of the U.S. film and television industry.
