Take Action: NewsGuild-CWA Joins Calls on DHS to Withdraw Journalist Visa Proposal

NewsGuild-CWA members and supporters of a free press oppose recent rules that would restrict journalists operating in the United States. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security published a rule that would shorten the duration of visas for foreign journalists working in the U.S. The proposal would reduce the visa duration from stays of up to five years down to just eight months. This would create instability for foreign correspondents and their families and reduce the quality of news coverage coming from the United States.
