Starbucks Workers and Allies Rally for a Contract at 2 Broadway

Starbucks workers shouldn’t be living paycheck to paycheck when CEO Brian Niccol has the highest CEO-to-worker pay gap in the country. It would take only a single day’s sales to finalize a fair union contract with over 12,000 Starbucks workers. Instead, what does Starbucks prioritize under Niccol’s leadership? $80 million leadership retreats with Bruno Mars, a private jet for Brian to commute from California to Seattle, and executive bonuses at a time where the company is also trying to say layoffs are the best way to cut costs.
On Tuesday, members of Starbucks Workers United were joined in force by union siblings from the NYC CLC, CIR/SEIU, CSEA, HTC, LIUNA Local 1010, NewsGuild of NY, OPEIU 153, PSC-CUNY, UAW, and UFT as well as elected officials at their rally in front of the Starbucks at 2 Broadway in Manhattan. Marchers demanded that Starbucks starts listening to green-apron partners and making sure they have the hours, pay, and protections they need to do their jobs right.
If Starbucks doesn’t finalize contracts soon, they’ll be ready to strike in New York and around the country — and the NYC Labor Movement will be ready to fight in solidarity with them! In the meantime, please sign and share the No Contract, No Coffee pledge at https://bit.ly/nocontractnocoffee. By signing this pledge you are making a commitment to refuse patronage at Starbucks while workers are on strike for a fair contract.
