PS (POPSUGAR) Voluntarily Recognized as part of the Vox Media Union

The editorial employees of PS (formerly POPSUGAR) won voluntary recognition from management at Vox Media and are now members of the Vox Media Union with the Writers Guild of America East (WGAE). The 20-member PS unit won union recognition after they and their colleagues in the 300-member Vox Media Union demanded recognition on the first day of negotiations with management on a third collective bargaining agreement. PS workers will be fully covered under the Vox Media Union CBA once negotiations conclude and the contract is ratified by members
The Vox Media Union, now including PS, are negotiating for fair increases in compensation that account for inflation and cost of living, expanded worker benefits, a commitment to diversity initiatives, protections around artificial intelligence and enhanced protections in the event of layoffs or termination, among other critical items.
PS staff members said, “This marks a significant step forward in our efforts. We are encouraged that the company has listened to our concerns and made the right decision by voluntarily recognizing PS as part of the Vox Media Union. We look forward to joining our colleagues across the organization and are optimistic about a productive bargaining season ahead.” Read more here.
