Yesterday, postal workers and supporters gathered at the James A. Farley Post Office in New York City as part of a nationwide Day of Action organized by the American Postal Workers Union (APWU). The event, spearheaded here in NYC by the New York Metro Area Postal Union, APWU, called out threats to the United States Postal Service (USPS) including proposals that could lead to higher prices, reduced services, and job losses.

Workers and supporters emphasized the USPS's constitutional role in serving every American household and business, regardless of location. With the rallying cry “Stop the Illegal Takeover of the People’s Postal Service!”, supporters demanded that our public postal system remain intact, rejecting any efforts to sell off USPS to private interests.
