NYC Labor Mobilizes for Endorsed Primary Candidates

Leading up to and on Primary Day, the NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, alongside our dedicated volunteers, mobilized to help turn out the union vote across the city. Through door knocking, phone banking, and targeted outreach, we contacted nearly 40,000 union voter households. Union members also showed strong visibility at key polling locations in districts with priority labor-endorsed candidates, demonstrating the strength of our movement and our commitment to electing leaders who stand with working people.
Many of our endorsed candidates including Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, Borough Presidents Vanessa Gibson (Bronx) and Antonio Reynoso (Brooklyn), and at least eighteen of our City Council candidates won their primary races outright on Tuesday, with most others well-positioned going into the Ranked Choice Voting count. NYC LaborVotes!
NYC LaborVotes! is the political program of the NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. It is critical we elect public servants who will put working families first. Help us reach union members and their households to ensure they know when, where, and how to vote.
