On Tuesday, the NYC CLC hosted a special appreciation event for some of our most dedicated Labor Day volunteers, many of whom have been giving their time and energy to our annual Labor Day celebrations for decades.

This year's Labor Day volunteers helped ensure that our Rally and March ran safely and smoothly, allowing us to share union members' stories about their experiences on September 11, the recovery and rebuilding efforts that followed, and the struggles facing working people today. In Parade years, our volunteers serve as marshals, organize union contingents, deliver supplies along the route, and handle countless other tasks that make New York City's biggest show of Labor solidarity possible.

Special thanks to IBEW Local 3 for hosting Tuesday's event and for its longstanding commitment to the CLC and our Labor Day celebrations. Local 3 has a special place in the history of New York City's Labor Movement, dating back to the leadership of legendary Local 3 Business Manager and former CLC President Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Each year, Local 3 provides dozens of volunteers whose dedication, alongside that of volunteers from across our affiliated unions, helps bring our Labor Day events to life.
