Leading up to and on Primary Day, the NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, in partnership with the NYS AFL-CIO, alongside our affiliates and volunteers, mobilized to help turn out the union vote across New York City. Through door knocking, phone banking, street visibility and other voter contact efforts, union members reached more than 150,000 voters, knocking on over 50,000 doors, making over 100,000 calls and texts, and sending over 200,000 direct mail pieces in support of candidates who understand the issues facing working families. We thank every union member who volunteered their time and every New Yorker who participated.

We also congratulate the successful candidates, including those endorsed by the NYS AFL-CIO in NYC. At a moment when working families face economic uncertainty and workers' rights are under unprecedented attack from Washington, local leadership matters. Working people need leaders who will stand up for good jobs, respect collective bargaining, and help make New York City more affordable for the families who call it home.

We look forward to continuing to engage with candidates and voters in the months leading up to the General Election in November, and to working with elected leaders at every level of government to advance policies that benefit working people and their families.  Stay engaged by signing up for updates and opportunities to support that work.
