Brooklyn Defenders Union Rallies Before Contract Expiration

UAW Local 2325 members at Brooklyn Defender Services in Queens and Brooklyn showed up in numbers last week to picket for a fair contract now. The union showed that they will not stand for management’s unacceptable counteroffers on salary—including a proposed $3,000 raise across the board, which doesn’t even keep pace with inflation, and an unlivable $61,000 starting salary for support staff.
