Tuesday, March 31, 12:30– 1:30 PM: Join the Sesame Workers Union for food, fun, and community at their Anniversary Block Party! Workers at Sesame Workshop, the parent nonprofit of the beloved television show Sesame Street, organized a union one year ago in a historic moment for the organization and the children they help to grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. The union was formed out of a deep respect and devotion to the organization, their work, and their shared mission at Sesame.
Since June 2025, members have been negotiating their first contract with Sesame management and their attorneys at Proskauer Rose. Workers say they have not been met with the respect or collaboration they deserve, instead facing resistance and efforts by management to maintain control. Now, in honor of their first anniversary as a union, they are taking action.
Celebrate with Sesame workers and show strong support for a first contract that reflects the work they do. The event will include snacks, music, speakers, and more. At Dante Park, 63rd & Broadway. More info here!
