Just six months after Superstorm Sandy, Verizon is turning its back on lower
Manhattan by moving 1,100 workers out of 140 West Street.

Verizon received $185 million in public funds (our tax dollars) to rebuild in lower
Manhattan after 9/11, and now they are planning to sell or lease much of 140 West
Street.

Our tax dollars shouldn't subsidize Verizon's luxury real estate deals.

Keep Verizon workers at 140 West Street. Elected officials, community activists, and
business owners throughout lower Manhattan have joined CWA in telling Verizon:
DON'T ABANDON LOWER MANHATTAN!

Lower Manhattan's Community Board 1 passed a resolution urging Verizon to keep
their employees here. Downtown is fighting back from Sandy and we need everyone
- including Verizon - on board!

Why is Verizon turning their back on us now when we need them most?
