Thursday, July 23, 9AM-12PM: The NYC CLC and NYCOSH will host the next session in the 2026 Safety & Health Series, Extreme Heat & Worker Safety: Understanding NYC's Actions to Protect Workers, on Thursday, July 23, from 9AM to 12PM via Zoom.

As New York City experiences record-breaking heat, the virtual forum will examine the health risks extreme temperatures pose to workers across industries, NYC's recent Executive Order 17, and the collaborative efforts underway to protect workers from heat-related illness. The session will cover organizing to protect workers from extreme heat, the scope of heat's impact on workers, and how the city's new executive order will be implemented.

Panelists include Dr. Laura Bozzi, Executive Director of Environmental Health Policy at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; Marina Jabsky, Industrial Hygienist at NYCOSH; Zoey Laskaris, PhD, Research Assistant Professor at the Barry Commoner Center; and Charlene Obernauer, Executive Director of NYCOSH.
