The NY Childcare Coalition Presents: A Labor Path for Universal Child Care

Tuesday, October 20, 8:30AM-4:30PM:Unions, worker advocates, and child care providers are convening to build a shared strategy on universal child care. Hear from labor leaders, dig into the issue, and help chart the path forward.
The intersection of work and family life is a critical frontier for the labor movement. While universal child care has gained significant public traction, New York City’s labor movement must now unite to define, champion, and organize around a unified, worker-centered vision for the future of child care. The central premise is that labor should move the conversation beyond repeatedly establishing that child care is essential and begin defining what a universal system must guarantee, how the workforce will be protected, how the system will be financed, and what it will take to achieve those commitments
