Elba Guichardo
Elba is the Bookkeeper at the NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. She joined the council in 2017. Elba immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic, where she worked in the finance department for over 15 years. Her role at the NYCCLC involves managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing over 300 monthly affiliate invoices, and ensuring the financial integrity of the council’s operations through meticulous cash flow analysis and monthly management reports.
Before joining the NYCCLC, Elba dedicated her career to serving both non-profit and for-profit organizations as a Bookkeeper, Office manager and Freelance Finance Consultant. Her efforts have consistently focused on ensuring accounting financial control and simplifying day-to-day workflows through productivity automation.
Elba holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a major in Hospitality from Universidad Dominicana O&M. She also earned a Non-Profit Accounting Certification from the Nonprofit CPAs Alliance and completed Accounting and Budget courses from Baruch College. Additionally, she is a proud member of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 153.
