NYCOSH 2016 SAFETY & HEALTH SERIES: Whistleblowing Protection

Wed, May 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM to at 01:00 PM

Whistleblowing Protection:

How do we protect ourselves when we stick our necks out for safety & health?

When workers bring employers to task for not making the workplace safer and healthier, they run the risk of retaliation. OSHA's Whistleblower Protection Program enforces the whistleblower provisions of not only OSHA or safety and health, but more than twenty whistleblower statutes. Nonetheless, workers continue to be retaliated against and ensuring against that can be difficult, time consuming and ineffective.  The panel brings together Teri Wigger representing OSHA’s Whistleblower Protection Programs, Kristina Mazzocchi a well-known workers’ rights attorney and Nadia Marin of NYCOSH’s safety and health division who can help you understand your rights and protections.
