National AFL-CIO
The American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) web site provides a vast array of information about today's unions, joining a union, and the Working Families agenda.

Change To Win Federation
Change to Win was founded in September 2005 by seven unions and six million workers devoted to building a movement of working people.  Change To Win is uniting workers in industries such as hospitality, construction, retail, food processing, healthcare, and trucking and transportation, among others.

New York State AFL-CIO
The New York State AFL-CIO represents more than 2.5 million members whose occupations are as diverse as the Empire State itself. Its web site provides information about the NYS AFL-CIO's activities, labor councils, and much more.

Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Center for Labor Studies
(SUNY Empire State College)
This Center provides Labor Education on the college level. Students can
pursue degrees in six areas. labor studies; cultural studies; social theory,
social structure and social change; historical studies; interdisciplinary
studies; and business, management and economics.

NYU Labor Archives
The NYU Tamiment Institute Library & Wagner Labor Archives is a research collection documenting the history of American radicalism and labor from the late 19th century to the present.

Union Label & Service Trades Department
Look for the union label and learn more about the products and services produced in America by union members.

The Queens College Worker Education Center
The Center provides undergraduate and graduate college degree programs for union members at its mid-Manhattan Extension Center and through its on-campus LEAP program. The Center offers two certificate programs in partnership with the Central Labor Council: Labor and Civic Participation as well as the Union Semester (see below). The Center also sponsors monthly labor breakfast forums, conducts research, organizes conferences, issues educational materials on matters of vital concern to labor, and publishes New Labor Forum, a national journal of ideas, analysis and debate.

New York Union Semester
Now in its third year, Union Semester is a unique "semester away" program offered by Queens College/CUNY which provides students with a hands-on opportunity to intern with a labor union or affiliated organization in New York City while taking courses in labor studies.

New York City Labor Chorus
The New York City Labor Chorus, with 75 members representing over 20 labor unions and District Councils, was founded in 1991. Our Chorus promotes union solidarity by expressing through song the history and ongoing struggles of workers for economic and social justice. Our dynamic repertoire combines the power and culture of union music with the great gospel, jazz, classical and folk traditions.

Bread and Roses Cultural Project
Bread and Roses was founded in 1979 as a cultural resource for union members and students in New York City who would otherwise have little access to the arts.

Labor Arts
Labor Arts is a virtual museum; we gather, identify and display images of the cultural artifacts of working people and their organizations. Our mission is to present powerful images that help us understand the past and present lives of working people.

NYCOSH
NYCOSH, the New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health, is a non-profit coalition of 200 local unions and more than 400 individual workers, physicians, lawyers and other health and safety activists - all dedicated to the right of every worker to a safe and healthful job.
